Your wedding is going to be one of the most important days of your life, bar none. Just ask some newlyweds how special it was for them and how long they spent preparing it. I’m sure that one of these answers might shock you. Some brides spend well over a year planning and prepping their dream wedding. They want to make sure that it’s perfect in every way possible. But where does it all begin and how will it end? Well, first you need to make it official.

Save The Date!

Your first job once you get engaged is to choose a date for your wedding and make sure that everyone knows it. When you’re choosing a date, it’s important to remember that some dates throughout the year are incredibly popular. Indeed, it’s true to say that any time near Christmas or even in the peak of summer is often incredibly difficult to secure. As such, you may want to pick a more random date. You could also think about getting married in the middle of the week. These dates are easier to obtain as most people won’t arrange the time off work to do this. After you have the picked the date when you’re definitely going to get married, you need to send out save the date invites. This tells people when your wedding is, even if you haven’t officially booked it yet. You may need to send out a separate invite after this with more details that they need to know.

Don’t Be Late

It’s not just about choosing the right wedding date for you. You also need to think about booking all the little things that you need for your wedding to coincide on the same day. You’re going to need transport, someone to wed you both, food and a photographer among other things. Leaving even one of these arrangements too late could ultimately lead to you having a crucial ingredient of your wedding missing. You don’t want that so make sure you start booking as early as possible. That way, you can ensure all the pieces fall into place.

Looking Great

Often, you’ll have about a year once you get engaged before the date of your wedding. This is particularly true if there’s a specific venue where you want to be wed. It’s actually quite useful because it gives you roughly a year to make sure that you look your best on your wedding day. Think about the dream dress that you would love to wear. It will probably look an awful lot better if you can shave off those extra pounds.  It’s not uncommon for people to go on diets leading up to their pick day so they can slip into their dream dress. Or, so that they can fit into a suitable tux.

As you can see then, there are lots of little things that make up your dream wedding. If you want it to be brilliant from beginning to end, you need to be aware of these.
